Oh, it seems like a completely unfair statement to make, until you hear the words coming out of his ignorant pie-hole.
During a speech on Tuesday at the University of Pennsylvania, Biden argued that the new round of spending was necessary to prevent sexual assault. “It’s not temporary [administration’s proposed stimulus] when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped, if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape. It’s not temporary to that woman.” Then in the same speech he wished Republicans were themselves rape victims. “I wish they had some notion of what it was like to be on the other side of a gun, or [to have] a 200-pound man standing over you, telling you to submit.”
It’s a remarkably dense statement from a man that long held the unofficial title of the Dumbest Man in the U.S. Senate, starting with the fact that Son of Son of Stimulus (or whatever they’re calling it now) has absolutely nothing to do with hiring or retaining police officers. Local taxes raised by local governments pay their police forces; federal dollars only go to local police forces thanks to harebrained schemes like the grants militarizing our police forces with automatic weapons and armored vehicles.
Of course, if Biden wants to prevent crime, perhaps he should talk to his boss about being tougher on criminals, instead of arming them.
