The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

Michael Moore calls on NYPD to revolt, or something

Check out the video at NewsBusters, but here’s the meat of it:

You have the most dangerous job in the country, and these rich bastards on Wall Street they have ruined your 401(k)s, your pension funds, your future, your children’s future. Money that should be going to having better law enforcement has gone to needless wars in other lands.

So, my appeal to the police is you are us and we are you, and join us. It’s fun. We’ll even let you beat on a bongo drum. That’s my last word. Thank you.

Moore stops short of what I consider sedition, but let’s be honest: the Obama Administration is rallying behind the movement, along with other top Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi, and they aren’t about to call for reasoned or sane discourse from the Occupy movement as long as they see it as their last, best hope of  holding on to the Senate and Presidency in 2012.

This could go south quickly, and I have to think that neither Moore nor Obama quite understand the forces they are playing with, nor the fact that if they do manage a revolt, they are likely to be among the high-profile targets of any blowback.

  1. Remember that Moore lamented the fact that, back in 2001, al Qaeda attacked an heavily Democrat city, asking why they didn’t strike a more Conservative/Republican target. He scrubbed his website shortly after that, but screenshots are a bitch…heh.

Anyway, the roughly 20% that Mike represents, aka average OWS participants, are committed to the destruction of every value that has preserved freedom, opportunity and a better life for our descendants. Frankly, I think the term “sedition” is too good for these individuals. I don’t think they are courageous or committed enough (much less smart enough) to truly engage in treasonous behavior.

Nevertheless, I consider them enemies; not people whom I disagree with, but true enemies of freedom, of liberty, of all that is good and just and right in this world. And until we get serious about what a threat these modern-day barbarians are to modernity, we’re merely delaying the inevitable confrontation.

  2. Stephan says:

How many of the officers are OATH KEEPERS? Moore might be smart to shut his fat pie hole.
