Issa: Holder goes or the administration is ‘doomed’

The Daily Caller writer Matthew Boyle really needs to commended for his excellent, original and relentless coverage of Operation Fast and Furious.

His latest is an interview with House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, where Issa pulls no punches on what he thinks of President Obama standing behind Attorney General Eric Holder in regards to the Fast and Furious gun-walking plot.

“If the [Obama] administration continues to have full confidence in a failed administration by Eric Holder and Lanny Breuer, then ultimately the administration is going to be doomed,” Issa told TheDC during an interview in San Diego on Saturday. “Eric Holder seems to have the full confidence of the President and I don’t understand why.”

I rather suspect that the California Republican and Senator Charles Grassley, which have been bull-dogging the investigation, know precisely why Obama is sticking beside Holder, and that is that the Administration is complicit in the scandal all the way up to the White House, and they are concerned that if Holder goes, down, he may very well take them with him.

Holder & Co. may be the current top of corruption in the DoJ, but they’re following something of a tradition; did you see this at Insty?

“But the 500-page report by the investigator, Henry F. Schuelke, recommends that none of the Justice Department officials involved in the case be prosecuted for criminal contempt of court because the judge who presided over the trial, Emmet G. Sullivan, of Federal District Court in Washington, did not issue an order specifically instructing prosecutors to obey the law by turning over any exculpatory evidence. ”
So, with that kind of background in the DoJ, we can’t expect much of anyone there to be trustworthy. And THEN we get to Holder….
