Over at Ace of Spades, Dave in Texas calls the next step in the Occupy Movement by citing history.
Watts, 1965. 34 killed, over a thousand injured. Chicago, 1968. 39 dead. Hundreds of cities across the nation that same year. Kent State in 1970. Go back fifty years, go back a hundred and fifty years. Uncontained riots lead to a lot of people dying.
This will not end well. Hell, it’s already awful. And the people who own it are the Dem-led municipal governments who refuse to put an end to it, who instead embrace it for political advantage. And by own it I mean the blood is on their hands.
I’d go further and add that with the level of official and unofficial support Democrats from President Obama on down have lent to the movement, something far more deadly may be on the horizon. These politicians are egging on greater divisions and greater delusions among a radical minority of their followers, individuals that may feel justified at following the lead of Obama mentors Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn and start engaging in terrorism.
Conversely, the radicalization of the Presidency and apparently criminal conspiracy that the White House and leaders of Executive branch departments have created with Operation Fast and Furious and other gun-walking scandals is likely to lead to radicalization on the right as people feel desperate enough to take up arms to defend the Constitution from federal tyranny and the Occupy mob’s cries for Marxism and/or anarchy. Frankly, such groups must form on the right to balance out the radical power being leant to the left by the Powers That Be. Nature abhors a vacuum, and counter-balancing minority radicalization or a wholesale rightward shift by the American people is the only natural response to the radicalism being championed by an Administration that seems hell-bent on destroying the nation in the time they have left in power.
President Obama and his allies are creating and encouraging the conditions that spawn terror-minded radicals on both the left and the right. Americans on both sides of the political aisle should be appalled, as conditions ripen for blood to be spilled and for people to die.
