Damn it, Janet: House Homeland Security Committee to investigate DHS role in Fast and Furious

Written By: Bob - Dec• 08•11

I’ve been saying since the very beginning that there is absolutely no way that the gun-walking plot could have gone down without DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano’s direct knowledge. It looks like Rep. Michael McCaul agrees.

A Houston-area congressman is launching a new House committee investigation into the Fast and Furious gun trafficking sting operation that was designed to trace the route of U.S. weapons from U.S. gun dealers into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Austin, announced that his investigations subcommittee of the House Homeland Security Committee is launching an inquiry.

The former federal prosecutor and deputy attorney general of Texas wrote to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief John Morton asking for information showing the role that ICE agents played when the guns were purchased in the United States and transported south of the border.

I like how the paper refers to Fast and Furious as a “sting operation.” Is there any evidence that’s what it was? Who was the target of the “sting?”

The 2nd Amendment rights of US citizens. That was the target. That and making sure the Sinoloa cartel came out on top of the cartel wars.

    Nice Rocky Horror reference…
