The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

Holder digs in, encouraging speculation of his involvement in gun-walking plot

What do you do when the nations’ chief law enforcement official all but confirms his involvement in a criminal conspiracy?

Attorney General Eric Holder’s testimony in front of the House Judiciary committee on Thursday confirms our worst fears. He refused to divulge who authorized Operation Fast and Furious, refused to cooperate with Congress, and refused to fire anyone after the Operation was found to have contributed to the deaths of more than 300 Mexican citizens and two federal law enforcement agents.

Holder boldly indicated that he will stand in contempt of Congress instead of requiring the Department of Justice to answer Congressional inquires truthfully and completely.

If you are the President of the United States, about to run for reelection in a brutal political climate, you force him to resign, perhaps with an under-the- table promise of a blanket pardon if it buys his silence. Unless, of course, you are a President concerned that he cannot be trusted to keep quiet what he knows about your own involvement in the murderous plot, or are so arrogant yourself that you think the two of you are above the very laws of the land you were sworn to protect.

If you are the ranking representatives of the majority of either party of Congress, or a chairman or committee member of the appropriate subcommittees, you make a moral stand and force the Attorney General, the Department of Justice, and all actors involved in this plot to follow the law as set down by our Constitution and federal laws. You demand that the Attorney General and his minions comply with subpoenas, hold appropriate political appointees and bureaucrats in contempt, and begin impeachment proceedings if necessary. You demand that the President fire those that do not comply with Congress’s mandate and Constitutional authority, and shut down the government if he will not.

You show him that he is not above the law.

The local newspaper, via the A.P., doesn’t even carry the story…how in the world are people going to keep ignoring this !
My Congressional representative (GOP) is on Judiciary and hasn’t said a word about this travesty…maybe a press release at least?
