Suppressor Porn

Written By: Bob - Mar• 16•12

A couple of weeks back I mentioned that Templar Custom was working on a prototype of an integrally-suppressed barrel called the Dagger. Bob has an update of the finished and painted prototype.

Here it is unmounted.

And here is what it looks like mounted in an AR that looks suspiciously like Gretchen.

Production Dagger barrels will be produced for 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, and 300 BLK.

Suppressed 6.5 Grendel . . . can a sub-sonic suppressed 6.5 Grendel cycle the action on the AR or is it a single shot requiring manual cycling? If standard velocity 6.5 Grendel rounds are fired through the suppressor what level of sound suppression can we expect?

I love the Grendel, have a couple of them currently, but I can’t find much on suppressing the round since its real strongpoint is the fact that it stays super-sonic to very long (relative) ranges out of a 20+ inch AR barrel.

I don’t think it was made with subsonic 6.5 loadings in mind. While I’ll have to check, I think the goal here is just to bring the report down to reasonable degree. Even standard factory ammo can be suppressed enough to fire rounds indoors sans ear pro without permanent hearing damage.
