The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

True Love

I got a little older today according to the calendar. I’m now 41. The first gift I received this year is probably one that has touched my heart more than any I’ve received in a long while.

It isn’t the best picture, but that’s a paracord bracelet made for me by my wife. Monetarily the cost to make it is negligible, but the thought behind it is worth more to me than any precious metal or jewel. It says to me:

Come home to me. No matter how bad anything ever gets, you are my best friend, the father of our children, and the compliment to my soul. Come home to me. No matter what.

Life is precious. The unexpected loss of two giants in the blogosphere recently, Andrew Brietbart and milblogger Carroll “Neptunus Lex” LaFon, reminds of how fragile our existence on this plane really is.

Come home to me.

As long as I draw breath on this world, you can count on it.

Bob, Lex’s last name is actually spelled LeFon, not Lafon.
