House appropriators are set to give the agency that handled Operation Fast and Furious the exact funding requested by President Obama, which is an increase in funding since last year.
“The legislation contains $1.2 billion for the [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] ATF, $1 million above fiscal year 2012 and the same as the [president’s] request,” the House Appropriations Committee explained last month.
So far Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano have avoided perjury charges for lying under oath to Congressional investigators, the Department of Justice faces contempt charges, and those most directly culpable in the murder-for-politics scheme have not only not been fired or suspended, but bumped to home office positions in Washington, DC.
Now we find that the BATFE is getting not a punitive reduction in funding for sending thousands of weapons to narco-terrorists, but instead a million-dollar budget increase.
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R- SC) has had enough of it, and has filed an amendment to strip that funding due to Fast and Furious gun-walking.
