Rebel Romney: Once arrested by park police for launching boat

Written By: Bob - May• 07•12

It is a secret to precisely no one that Buzzfeed is politically aligned with the progressive left, and attempt by the Buzzers to smear centrist or right leaning candidates is completely expected as part of their campaign of “Alinsky journalism.” Since Mitt Romney is the presumed (if still technically unofficial) Republican nominee, muckraking and bottom-feeding is expected.

But really… is this the best they can do?

According to what Romney told the Boston Globe in 1994, he had taken his family off to Wayland, Mass.’s Lake Cochituate, about an hour outside Boston, for a summer excursion. As Romney prepared to put his family boat into the water, a park officer told Romney not to launch because his license appeared to have been painted over. The officer told Romney if he put his boat into the water he would face a $50 fine.

Romney felt that his license was still visible and decided to ignore the order from the officer and pay the fine.

After Romney put the family boat into the water, the officer reappeared visibly angry and arrested Romney for disorderly conduct. Romney was handcuffed on the scene, taken to the local police station, and booked.

Romney threatened to sue for false arrest, and the case was unceremoniously dropped.

So, Mitt Romney disobeyed a park cop and got arrested for launching a boat.

Barack Obama’s administration committed to a program of gun running dependent on mass murder to effect a political policy agenda, in the deadliest scandal in U.S. presidential history.

Really, Buzzfeed… this is pathetic.

  1. Neo says:

Mitt rowed the boat offshore .. Hallelujah

  2. PT says:

Really? This is all they have on him?

Obama admitted to using cocaine. Romney got arrested over a $50 fine from a park ranger.

  3. James A. Webster says:

The more stuff like this boating incident comes out, the more it helps Romney. It shows us Romney, contrary to popular belief, is not quite Ward Cleaver. Turns out, like the rest of us, he can occasionally make mistakes. Egad, the man is human!
