Last night I was surfing around and discovered Dixie Precision Rifles, which focuses on long range custom rifles for competition and hunting, and well as building up custom handloads for the rifles they build.
Their custom rifles page has some beautiful examples of the rifle-maker’s art. Here’s one in particular that struck my fancy. Images courtesy of DPR.
It is simply a shame that I don’t have the skill or the range (my primary range maxs out at 500 yards) here in the hilly and heavily wooded North Carolina piedmont to justify such an investment.

500 yds? where did you even get that much in the Piedmont? I have to make do with 90 yds. I don’t know why I even HAVE a bolt gun…
You need to come out to an Appleseed event at the RWVA home range in Ramseur. Day One is spent on range two at the 25 yard line working on fundamentals, but on Day Two, skilled shooters (At the shoot boss’s discretion) have the option of shooting targets on the 500 yard known distance range.
