Hey, hey, DOJ, how many Mexicans have you killed today?
The Obama Administration–perhaps desperate to stay out of prison–has refused to provide the documentation demanded by the House Oversight an Government Reform Committee regarding the murderous gun-smuggling plot known as Operation Fast and Furious. The plot is the first of a number of suspect “gun-walking” operations that supplied weapons to drug cartels in Mexico and gangs in the United States in order to drive up gun crime, in a sinister ploy to generate support for restrictive gun control laws that the public does not want.
Civil contempt charges are expected to be filed today regarding the Obama Administration’s continued obstruction of justice.
House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa plans to sue Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday for refusing to provide documents related to the “Fast and Furious” gun-smuggling operation.
“The committee expects to file the civil contempt suit against the attorney general Monday,” a Republican source said. The suit will be filed in the federal district court for the District of Columbia.
There will likely be no immediate resolution, and expect this to drag on well into 2013 or beyond.
Expectations are that the DOJ Inspector General’s long-overdue internal investigation will be released before the elections in November and will not provide any real answers as to who conceived or authorized this gun-walking plot, just political cover.
