I love mocking the hippie retreads, iPad Marxists, vain hipsters and other denizens of the left wing protest movement, and frankly, it’s hard not to mock them. That said, they deserve their freedom to assemble and freedom to speak their political views as ever man, woman and child on the planet should, and I will defend their right to my last breath, even as i disagree with their message.
Sadly, these violent core groups are integral elements of the radical leftist agenda, new Brownshirts in defense of a new socialism.
Brandon Darby, who went undercover as an informant inside these violent leftist groups for the FBI in the 2008 campaign cycle, warns us that the peaceful Democratic protestors heading for the Republican National Convention in Tampa are going to be played as dupes and patsies:
Last time they made riot shields that they had made out of stolen traffic barrels and the riot shields had protruding sharpened deck screws from them. And they had their signs where, their protests signs were made out of heavy, heavy sticks so they could actually have a weapon against police but police couldn’t take them or else they were violating their rights to free speech.
And they would send the red group in to attack the police and then the red group would flee and then that would give the yellow group enough time to lock down and shut the RNC down. Well what was interesting about it, is that when the red group fled then the police would treat the protesters—because they’re all one protest—they would treat them as though they had just been attacked, because they had been. Well then the green group would look like they were innocent protesters who were getting attacked and in their minds they were because they didn’t realize that Lisa Fithian and the leaders were using them as part of this effort to violently attack police and attack conservatives.
So the buses that did get through when they were held up by the yellow group, then the red group would come back and the red group threw bricks and flagstones through the windows, they slashed the tires of the buses, they threw bleach and urine in the delegates faces and they attacked the buses and the people on the buses. And that’s what they’re going to do this time.
In short, the protest organizers have enlisted what you can only call domestic terrorists to attack police and convention-goers. These thugs will then melt back into the crowd and flee the scene, leaving the peaceful protestors to face the consequences. The protest organizers are depending on protestors getting beaten by the police to get the optics they want of “oppression.”
It’s disgusting, but part of the Democratic playbook.
Update: At least one protestor has already been jailed on weapons charges.
Mr. Wilson was not arrested peacefully:
According to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s officials, Jason T. Wilson, of Tallahassee, was arrested as he walked in the RNC Event Zone carrying a “full size” machete.
When deputies approached Wilson, they said he continued to walk away despite orders to stop.
“When deputies caught up to Wilson, he advised he did not have to stop and that he was allowed to carry whatever he wanted,” HCSO spokesperson Larry McKinnon said.
When deputies attempted to physically stop him, Wilson allegedly began resisting arrest and was physically restrained.
Wilson was arrested and taken to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on charges of prohibited items in event zone and resisting arrest with violence.
The “machete” is actually a kukri, known the world over as the “Gurkha knife.” It is a Nepalese utility tool and weapon, and I’m pretty sure Mr. Wilson wasn’t there to trim a hedge. The kukri is generally used as a chopping weapon, and can easily crack a skull or sever an arm.
I’ll be waiting for the left to spin how Wilson was some sort of lone wolf, instead of one of the pack.
