Mitt Romney’s campaign is falling apart, ripped to shreds by infighting and dissension. At least, that is the illusion the mainstream media is trying to create as they do their best to keep Barack Obama’s sinking reelection campaign above water.
Let’s take a look at just a couple of the items JournoList 2012 has misfired upon today.
Politico reports that Mitt Romney’s top strategist is a complete flake.
Stuart Stevens did such crazy things as green-lighting Clint Eastwood’s ad-libbed performance at the Republican National Convention. You know the routine well. Everyone does.
Eastwood famously hit home with the comments reminding voters that, “you, me… we own this country,” and made a simple, common-sense reference to a President that has failed at his job, noting, “when someone doesn’t do the job we gotta let him go.”
It was the most memorable moment of convention season outside of Democratic delegates denouncing God three times on their convention floor. Odd how Politico isn’t harping on that debacle, which was the most embarrassing moment in any convention, in either party, in the history of the nation.
Trying to do their part for the Obama reelection cause, Buzzfeed trots out the claim that the most moderate of Republican Presidential contenders, who has a long track record of working with Democrats in Massachusetts, is suddenly taking a turn to the radical right.
Buzzfeed’s sources—all anonymous Romney staffers, of course—are claiming that Romney’s radical right wing plan to end the Unite States and plunge us into an unerringly well-dressed and polite “Hell” will be accomplished with dark and sinister efforts to motivate Republican voters to… uh… vote.
This differs tremendously from the far more conventional Democratic plan to stuff ballot boxes with the names of the dead and disenfranchise military voters, while complaining that illegal aliens are being denied the right to vote.
These are the big “issues” according to the Obama media.
A wrecked economy, a terrorist attack that killed an Ambassador and lost a consulate, top officials resigning because of sex scandals, the second unprecedented downgrade of the nation’s credit rating, Administration refusing to rule out blasphemy laws to cripple free speech as demanded by Islamist terror groups the President is courting… none of these are stories worth reporting on in-depth.
The media’s job in the Obama campaign is clear.
Elect Obama, by any means necessary.
