DEVGRU mom places blame for SEAL deaths on Biden’s bragging

Written By: Bob - Oct• 09•12

A Chinoook helicopter like this one carrying members of SEAL Team 6 was shot down by Joe Biden’s grandstanding and Taliban rockets, but mostly Biden’s grandstanding.

I didn’t much care for it when Cindy Sheehan attempted to exploit her son’s death, primarily because she was disrespecting her son’s beliefs. U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan reenlisted knowing he would be sent to Iraq, and fell during a rescue mission, having volunteered for a quick reaction force (QRF) to save American lives. His mother exploited his honor for her own disreputable desires, and dragged his name through the mud in the process on the way to becoming a tax cheat and rabid anti-Semite.

Another military mom has come forward attacking a President during a time of war, but this time the situation is decidedly different.

While Karen Vaughn is blaming Barack Obama’s Administration for her son’s death, she’s not blaming the President’s military policy.

Instead, she’s blaming the political gamesmanship of a President that put SEALs and their civilian families at risk for terrorist attacks so that he could politically exploit the SEAL takedown of Osama bin Laden:

President Obama’s team “put a target” on the backs of the Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden, says Karen Vaughn in a video that suggests her son died three months later as a result of White House national security leaks.

“How dare they?” Mrs. Vaughn asks. “They put a target on my son’s back and even on my back. But a little over 90 days later, my son was dead.” Aaron Vaughn and 21 other Navy SEALs, “most of whom belonged to Team 6, the unit whose members were involved in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden,” according to ABC, died in Afghanistan when a helicopter he was riding on was shot down.

The video, released by the conservative Veterans for a Strong America, shows Vice President Joe Biden talking about the raid during a public event and Defense Secretary Robert Gates complaining that an agreement to keep the raid details secret “fell apart” as the result of such comments.

“Aaron called me,” Mrs. Vaughn says, referring to her son, Special Operations Chief Aaron Vaughn, who was killed on August 6, 2011. “He said, ‘Mom, you need to wipe your social media clean. Get rid of everything, any reference to me or my buddies, because there is chatter and all of our lives are possibly in danger, including yours.’”

It is hardly a surprise that some blame Obama and Biden for putting a target on DevGru, or that the Taliban would target them if they could in revenge, and some think that is precisely what happened.

The polimedia that would have excoriated President Bush if his grandstanding had led to a similar incident memory-holed the crash, and made no attempt to hold Obama or Biden responsible for their actions in naming the group.

That Biden and Obama would risk the lives of civilians is hardly shocking either, considering the still-rising bodycounts from Operations Castaway, Fast and Furious, Gangwalker, and other gun-walking operations.
