The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

Even Obama refers to liberal bloggers as “tin-foil hat crowd.”

This is what the aftermath of a political butt-whuppin’ looks like.

I had my fun mocking the liberal bloggers in denial over the fact that Mitt Romney cleaned Barack Obama’s clock at the first 2012 Presidential Debate in Denver. They couldn’t imagine the Greatest President Of All Time and Healer of All Inequities could have fallen so low without some sort of nefarious behavior, and imagined Romney cheated.

Belatedly, the Obama Campaign was finally asked about the absurdity, and treated the best minds in liberal blogging as they deserved:

Fox’s Special Report with Bret Baier somewhat belatedly weighed in on the issue during its Wednesday broadcast. Baier noted a Washington Times story that suggested the Obama campaign planted the “cheat sheet” story in the blogs. Fox asked the Obama campaign for its reaction. Spokesman Ben LaBolt provided them with the following statement:

No — We’ve never casted our lot with the tinfoil hat crowd.

Granted, it was a bogus Internet meme, but that is still a fairly harsh remark for what after all popular liberal voices on the web. Do those bloggers know the administration apparently holds them in such low regard?

Why not? No other semi-serious adult does.

Next, somebody should ask the Obama campaign to comment on Romney’s plan to outlaw tampons. Just in case they’re concerned that the Big Bird ad isn’t stupid enough.
