The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

Former VP, SecDef Cheney: Obama Admin in cover-up of Libyan scandal

Written By: Bob - Oct• 03•12

The man too tough for one heart pulls no punches addressing the Obama Administration’s Benghazi cover-up.

Dick Cheney is not thrilled with the lies of Barack Obama’s government, primarily because this sort of self-deception led us to massive terrorist attacks like we experienced on 9/11/01:

FORMER VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY: I think the danger from [the Obama Administration’s] standpoint is that this whole episode of Benghazi demonstrates that they don’t have a handle on foreign policy and national security matters. They like to go out and say, “bin Laden is dead. Terrorism is dead, al Qaeda is dead, and, you know, we’re great in the foreign policy field,” but that’s hogwash. First of all, the people who deserve credit are the intelligence professional who worked on that issue for ten years and finally got on the trail of bin Laden. But secondly, that claim to be competent in the world of foreign affairs just goes down in flames when you look at what happened in Benghazi. The latest thing I’ve heard now is that, and they were denied – now this is all second hand, I haven’t seen the confirmations yet – they had denied the additional security resources that had been requested by the Benghazi consulate or the Libyan – our embassy in Libya had asked for more help and didn’t get it.

SEAN HANNITY: Well, that was Jake Tapper’s report that the White House had no comment today on the assertion that the Libyan mission requested security prior to 9/11 which would make sense considering that Ambassador Stevens actually put in his own diary that he felt his life was in jeopardy – that he was being targeted by terrorists. Now, I doubt that if he was really feeling that deeply about it that he didn’t communicate that via cable or an email to somebody someplace that he needed help. It doesn’t make sense.

CHENEY: Yeah, it looks to me like its gonna get messier and messier, and in fact, it looks like the administration’s been involved in a cover up claiming that it was all caused by this YouTube video, when in fact, it was clearly the result of the developments with respect to al Qaeda and terrorism in North Africa. The battle is not over by any means. They keep wanting to say that there is no War on Terror, we don’t use the word terror. They refuse to recognize the situation we are in and that’s the first step towards ultimate failure and ultimately future terrorist attacks.

At this point,  no one in America (or the rest of the world) remotely believes that the Obama Administration has been communicating honestly about the events surrounding the murder of American Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya on September 11.

For almost two weeks, the Administration boldly lied to the American people, attempting to claim that the deaths came as the result of a mob reacting to an obscure film trailer that defamed Islam.

The fact was that the attack had been carefully planned by a local branch of al Qaeda, had nothing at all to do with a film, there was no protest, and the attack was committed on 9/11 as a political message. The second part of Cheney’s second statement bears repeating:

They keep wanting to say that there is no War on Terror, we don’t use the word terror. They refuse to recognize the situation we are in and that’s the first step towards ultimate failure and ultimately future terrorist attacks.

Men like Barack Obama create the conditions for terrorists to succeed by not recognizing them for what they are and what they intend to do.

You cannot deny reality to achieve peace. you achieve peace by being too strong for the predators to want to tangle with you.

For a party that so strongly claims that we must adhere to Darwinian thought, they are doggedly determined to ignore the more primitive side of the human animal when it suits them.

full disclosure: i’m not a fan of dick cheney.
dick cheney comes from an administration that formulated the object of this war, but they can not bring themselves to state the enemy, any more than the hussein administration.
they state the war is on terror.
i can’t find terror on a map anywhere.
    where is terror?
show me where to point my gun?
    terror is a tactic.
what the leadership in this country is doing is nothing more than the psychological equivalent of transference.
no one is naming the enemy.
    no one is.
    nada.
    zilch.
    bupkis.
no one dare name the enemy.
terror is not an enemy. terror is a tactic, to be used against an enemy.

I agree that Terror is being used to violate our rights and erode our freedoms. NSA unwarranted spying and TSA security check points. We want to be safe, but at what cost?

Still, ineptitude can’t be excused. It’s one thing to use terror as a tool to disarm and cow Americans, it’s another to leave them as sitting ducks while they are serving our country abroad.

Both are wrong, both must be changed.
