The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

Petreaus resigns

Written By: Bob - Nov• 09•12

I can’t say that I saw this coming:

NBC reported Friday that CIA director David Petraeus has resigned from the CIA, citing an extramarital affair.

NBC’s Andrea Mitchell said the resignation was submitted in a letter dated Friday and was accepted by the White House.

In a letter, Petraeus noted that he had been married for 37 years and had exercised “extremely poor judgment’ in conducting an extramarital affair.

Pardon me if I question theĀ  *cough* Benghazi *cough* timing.

    Patreaus Resigns Immediately?

Thrown under the bus by the Whitehouse and doesn’t have the balls to kick back?

Hell, they can’t take his pension away for a “marital affair” but they may try if he tells the truth to Congress. They probably have something else which can be spun “criminal” by the MFM to achieve this response.
More likely, he feels the truth will damage the nation more much more than a “personal reason”.

If he’s doing it for the Nation and to prevent an impeachent charge by the House I continue to respect him. If he’s doing it for Obama and to cover his own ass…let’s just say I used to respect him…gone!

So when did “I was boinking my secretary” morph into a “Get out of testifying to Congress” card?

  3. Steve Skubinna says:

I’ve been pondering this some more and wonder if, as an ex-employee of the CIA, there are restrictions on what Petreaus may testify on. So his resignation might have served to take some areas of discussion off the table.

This is a delaying tactic. it buys the Administration some time. If they can delay long enough, they know the American people, with their short attention span, will lose interest, and there will be no pressure on the media or Congress to find out the truth. Don’t lose sight of the fact that the CEO of Lockheed also resigned, on the same day and for the same reason. There are reports that Obama was gun-running – selling weapons to Muslims, using Stevens as his go-between in Turkey. The weapons in question were being supplied by Lockheed. Thus the connection b/w these two seemingly unconnected stories. Bob, sure hope you – or someone –
can get to the bottom of it.

Yeah, this was held to help Obama win the election. And now, it is an attempt to allow him to skate on testifying.

But if true, va-va-voom. he needs to stay in. Man’s got chops.!!

    No house now.. but chops.

WOW what a lot of 1nnocent coincidences in this series of events.

It’s remarkable that the FBI discovered the day AFTER the election that the president’s pick to be chief of the CIA was boinking around outside marriage. No way they found bout it a month ago and sat on it is there?

And it’s so weird that a scandal of some guy stepping out on his wife would cause his abrupt resignation the day after it was announced. Don’t democrat bureaucrats and politicians usually fight tooth and nail to keep their jobs when this happens? Actually sleeping around by a democrat seems to more of a feature than bug in the party of taxpayer funded abortion, anybody can marry anybody, and “Slut Fluke deserves free contraception”.

I’m sure it’s just a conicidence that the guy was scheduled to testify before congress next week on the Benghazi FusterCluck that the Apologizer in Chief set the stage for.
