The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

Let it begin here

Written By: Bob - Jan• 07•13

Easing into my 40s, I’m finally starting to understand the urgency of time, and the appeal of leaving a lasting legacy. What will I leave behind to my daughters, and my nieces and nephews? What can I do for my grandchildren before they’re even born, so that they have an opportunity for a life as blessed as mine has been? What is worth building, protecting, and passing on?

I, for one, cannot stand the thought of bowing my head for decades more, only to look back from the twilight of my life at my gathered children and grandchildren, knowing that I failed to act to protect their most precious liberty.

Then it struck me; do I love my children any less now, that I would not sacrifice all that I am for them at this moment, if that is what liberty demands?

Politicians in Illinois, New York, and Washington, DC are incapable of grasping the true meaning of that word, sacrifice.

To them, “sacrifice” is what someone else must give up in order for them to have their way. At best, “sacrifice” to them is having to delay their desires, of having to steal away what they would take from us in partial-measures, buried in massive bills that we have to pass to find out whats in them.

Word has come down in recent days that the President of the United States may attempt to gut the Second Amendment via an executive order, reclassifying popular self-loading firearms as Title II weapons the same as hand grenades, rocket launchers, and crew-served machine guns. In doing so, he would force you to register your firearms with the Federal government, pay a draconian tax for merely keeping what you already own, and shred your right to privacy, allowing the federal government into your home unannounced to “check up” on or confiscate your guns at any moment they see fit.

From NFA ’34, to GCA ’68, to FOPA ’86, and the ’94 Crime Bill, the federal government has chipped away at the rights of gun owners in the name of “public safety.” Tellingly, the safety they’ve sought to protect in each and every one of those laws has been their own, attempting to defang the people so that when the people finally realize they have been cornered by their would-be masters, they have nothing left with which to strike back in their own defense.

Not one step more. That is what I pledge to my children.

I will accept no executive orders that reclassifies the most common and popular sporting rifle in America into a de facto “machine gun” just because a narcissist son of a drunken communist claims it is his right to do so.

I will not accept a ban on any firearms, or magazines from a self-absorbed Congress or any other imagined superior.

I will not give up one more cartridge, one more inch, or one more right so that statists in either party can constrict our liberties yet again in the false claim of safety, a claim that only serves their desire for absolute power without consequence.

Captain John Parker was a veteran of the French and Indian War when he ordered his troops of the Lexington Militia—not Minutemen, mind you, but the normal regular militia—to muster on Lexington Green. Parker was dying of advanced tuberculosis; he’d be dead within six months. His orders to his men as he faced 700 approaching regulars with less than 70 men are recorded for posterity. “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”

I can chart the path forward for no other man, but I will contest to their last breaths the desires of petty tyrants and their co-conspirators if they cross this red line that determines that the soap box, ballot box, and jury box have failed, and that the cartridge box is our last resort.

I will go to my death if this time comes to pass, orphaning and widowing those I hold most dear. For that I am truly regretful, just as I regret the lives I must attempt to cut short so that my children will breathe free. I know that in my sights will be another mother’s son or daughter, likely with children of their own. But they will have made their choice of whom to serve, and I have made mine.

There is no desire for bloodshed in my heart, but if they want a war, let it begin here.

at this point all i can suggest is that

ONE: you must write to your legislators. no one wants another civil war. We must bury them in paper and emails.

TWO: if an EO is passed or some other non-constitutional law than the more people who exhibit civil disobedience and ignore the law the less power it has over all of us. We must stand together!

THREE: you should start to figure out who you can trust with your opinion of 2A and who will stand beside you.

Tears here, Bob. To think that this once great nation is reaching a tipping point, breaks my heart. As much as I miss him each and every day, I’m glad my father – who was at Pearl Harbor – is not alive to see what we’ve let happen. And I say we, because too many of us sat on the sidelines and watched them take over education, and force more filth on us thru ‘entertainment,’ we didn’t hold the media accountable for their lies, and the list goes on. We thought other people would write the letter/make the phone call voicing our outrage. Not enough did, so here we are – the ill-informed takers re-elected a man who has no love for this nation, and will do everything possible to destroy it. And you have written what so many of us feel may have to happen, if there is any hope of a free nation for our children and grandchildren.
    May God help us.

I am in. Let us pleadge our lives, fortunes and our Liberty to one another as our esteemed forefathers did.

However,do not be “hasty”. Be ready. Do not rashly run
into trouble without council. Be resolute, but wary. I do not want there to be any martyrs among us because someone
    was impatient.

There is a lot to keep all of us busy until we are sure the time has come to act. Prepare, organize, be intimately familiar with the “tools” of liberty.

These things will serve to fill us with useful labor until the time comes that will be as obvious to us, as Lexington was to our forefathers.

Finally, do not forget the most important preparations our forefathers themselves made, and so should we all. Pray for council, courage and protection from God. I have no doubt that he is not seen in the camp of the opposition!

I’ve written my so called congressional reps more times than I can count or care to think about. Nothing’s changed. They just keep on taking and that’s got to stop. I have my children and grandchildren to think about and it breaks my heart to consider what their future is going to be. I’m in my 50’s, fairly healthy and I am willing to give up what’s left of my future to help bring a stop to this. Yes, let it start here, now, so that my grandchildren may have a chance to live free of this oppression. Barney Fife had it right; we should have nipped this shit in the bud. Now we shall deal with it.

@ both Anon who report that local LEO’s will not participate in raids to seize firearms: don’t bet your life on it, which is what you would be doing. If the PTB say it is now the law that ownership of certain weapons is illegal, they will enforce “the law”. There are a few on record as saying just that. The Sheriff of Hillsborough County FL is one and the scumbag Sheriff in AZ who directed the “raid” on Jose Guerena’s residence that took his life, is another. I know CA LEO’s would in a heartbeat. They (CHP) participated in the seizure of firearms from law abiding citizens in NOLA after Katrina and their attitude is that citizens should not have firearms. You don’t think they would participate if Congress passed some, albeit anti-Constitutional ban, or the Marxist in the WH issued an E.O.? Like I said I wouldn’t bet my life on it. It is getting close to crunch time. Semper Paratus.

    • Les says:

I suspect if this coup is pushed through, local and state law enforcement will be among the first rounded up. Back in the early seventies when the president’s mentors were blowing up government installations and robbing banks and dreaming of putting millions of US citizens in re-education camps, they expressed other desires. They wanted all local police disarmed, citing GB as an example. But they really preferred a national police force, headquartered in Washington. This was to solve problems with fairness and racial discrimination, and all those conflicting state laws.

  7. Chief661 says:

@Les that was before 9/11 and pre-“Patriot Act” and NDAA mentality. While the Fed agencies, DHS, TSA, BATF, DEA, FBI, etc. are a done deal as participating in a seizure, anyone who is against a semi-auto ban or seizure will be called a “domestic terrorist” by the ruling class, i.e. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein etc., the WH and MSM and local LEO’s through the fusion centers will be drawn into this CF. There will be small town and rural PD and Sheriffs like Mr. Mack who don’t agree with a seizure and I obviously can’t anticipate what will happen with LEO’s like them. IMHO the majority if not all City Union PD’s will act without care for whom they kill or lock up. LEO’s these days are not the same as when I was growing up in the 50-60’s. I continue to pray that it doesn’t happen and for guidance so that I will be ready when resistance becomes necessary. Sleep is not restful these days. I see many parallels to the process the NAZI’s used in post-Weimar Germany in their run-up to power (read “The Coming of the Third Reich”). Semper Paratus and may God protect us all.

  8. tuffguy59 says:

Love this post… among the best I’ve read on the subject!

I have friends & neighbors who are LEOs & federal agents, most of whom are family men and owners of private weapons. I’ve begun working “what-if questions into my conversations with them… Where would you stand if…? If for no other reason, I’d like to know who I’d trust when it happened.

So far, my conversations lead me to believe most would risk their job for keeping their rights. I would love to see a real survey of how these people feel across the nation. If such a survey were published and it favored gun rights, I wonder if that would give the feds 2nd thoughts on pursuing this path… maybe just a fantasy!

  9. Billyjack says:

Everyone must realize that the first order of business is to disarm your enemies. The current Marxists regime by proposing the anti-gun legislation has just defined law-abiding gun owning citizens as enemies.

“The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.” – Cornelius Tacitus (55 – 117 A.D.)

  10. An amazing post. At some point we will all be required to consider whether or not we will be so brave. The difficulty for me will come with the fact that no one will know who they should aim their guns at. There will be no way to determine friend from foe and the violence will be ‘every man for himself’in this situation. The politicians will be in hiding and the banksters will have anonimity. With technology being so advanced, there is no where to run and no where to hide from our own military. If there has to be a revolt, it has to be when “they” are the least prepared. Unfortunately with the internet being so heavily monitored there is no place to assemble and become united in a cause such as this.

    count me “in”.

    • creeper says:

You do realize, don’t you, that the petition site on is nothing more than a way to get names and addresses of people who oppose them…and all under the guise of making you feel like you’re doing something.

I’d die before I’d sign one of those things.

      • Gary Laxton says:

You may well be correct about them gathering names. However, do not forget that we are proud to be free men, and as such, it is hard for any foe to stomp his foot and make us tremble. It was no accident that Mr. John Hancock had such a bold signature. Molon Labe.

@tuffguy59 – I would like to see that survey as well. I have been living in CA away from home(PA)for 11 years; waiting to go back in retirement and I knew LEO’s I worked alongside as a vol. FF/EMT back there that I trusted. I would like to know where they stand on this. @preparedandinprayer – In my experience there are no real ways to predict whether someone will actually fight when push comes to shove. Is it courage or fear that drives the process? I am no psychologist, but think it is likely a bit of both. Will I have the b_lls to fight? I hope so. I do know that my wife and I, both in our mid-60’s, are not going to simply acquiesce as we have concluded there is a difference between living and existing. I’m not saying it won’t be a bad/tough call because the ramifications extend to my family, but if I give up the weapons they demand now, what will they want next? Either the Constitution with BOR is the law of the land or the rules go out the window and we become Venezuela. I pray silently for guidance now every day because I believe we are rapidly descending toward a totalitarian state where the Marxist in the WH, or the Governor in (fill in the blank) can issue a “decree” and call it an Executive order, to confiscate, or just declare our semi-auto rifle, shotgun and handguns as classified/illegal. Then we will be forced to either register or pay a bounty to keep them or hunker down and wait for the knock on the door. Here in CA I was forced to register my handguns when I was transferred in through the moving company who transported them. So the State already has a list and knows where to go to get the legally registered handguns. We are facing the same kind of dilemma (to fight violations of their constitution) the German people faced in the 1930’s and we all know how that ended. Semper Paratus and may God protect us.
