Gun ownership skyrocketing among women

Written By: Bob - Feb• 20•13

The always excellent Ed Morrissey has the story over at Hot Air, so go read it.

I’m amused by Instapundit’s take:

This bodes poorly for gun control, given that nothing that middle class white women do can be illegal.

Combine this emerging demographic reality with the first-hand observation that women are often easier to train to shoot than guys (at least in my experience), and we may soon to reach a tipping point where violent crime declines even further due to the number of felons under the dirt.

I call that a “win-win.”

Here’s what one women has to say!!!

    Death before slavery!

  2. OpenTheDoor says:

Bob, “easier to train”, my experience as well.

Taught one to shoot, wanted to be able to shoot through a solid core door. Had to be solid because her husband had already broken in the usual flimsy interior doors.
Why yes, there was a “restraining order”.
It was his house, he knew how to make the phone not work. Pre cell phone, yeah, I’m old.
Learned to shoot that .357 Mag in under a box of FMG’s.
    Penetration baby.
    Oh, her violent rapist husband?
    He dead.

  4. cloaked in mystery says:

The combination of increasing acceptance of self defense as a right, and ever improving small volume manufacturing capability make gun control a dead duck from the start,

Most people have more sophisticated and capable prodction equipment in their garage than the khyber pass smiths, and access to much better raw materials.

All any laws will do is undermine the credibility of those who pass them, and make lawbreaking even more commonplace.

look at italy, they have laws for most everything, but the population ignores them. (and they even ignore the biggies like tax law)

  5. Russell says:

This whole issue reminds me of Governor Ann “Ma” Richards of Texas back in 1996. When the TX Legislature began considering a Concealed Weapons permit, Ann chimed in that she would veto the bill the minute it arrived on her desk.

Well, that was enough for the (ahem) courageous lawmakers to ditch the bill without challenging the Governor.

However, it WAS NOT ENOUGH to stop about 100 women from protesting at the Governor’s Mansion with signs that said things like “Did you treaten the veto while surrounded by armed security guards?” and “I nee security guards like yours.”

It’s one of the four or five reasons she lost to Bush.
