My latest review of National Geographic’s Doomsday Preppers posted over the weekend at PJMedia, and this time is a “twofer” since my DVR betrayed me and didn’t tape week 14. I did weeks 14 and 15 together.
What has been pretty interesting about the last couple of weeks is that I now know that some of the preppers on the show actually read my reviews. I’ve talked to one of them, Don Kubley, on the phone and via email about his company, Intershelter, and his very cool desire to use his company’s dome shelters to house homeless vets trying to get back on their feet. I intend to write about this effort more one day, and I’d like to see either veteran support organizations or the government step up and take Kubley up on his vision.
I also got an email from Captain Bill Simpson of the 70-foot, 90-ton Iron Maiden, who said he appreciated my review. It’s kind of cool knowing that at least some of the preppers on the show are reading my reviews, even though I’m sure quite a few aren’t happy with what I have to say about them.
