The saddest truth in politics is that people get the leaders they deserve

A hero rests

Rest in Peace

RIP: Margaret Thatcher

I like to think she was welcomed by an old friend who offered her jellybeans and gave her a big hug before walking her through the Pearly Gates.

She was one of the great leaders of my youth, with equal parts courage, conviction, and compassion, and she will be missed. It’s tempting to use the old cliche, and say that the world will be worse off for her passing, but that isn’t remotely true. Margaret Thatcher was one of the great champions of liberty, and their are an infinite number of happinesses large and small that exist in this world that otherwise may not have because she dared to fight.

The thing she once said that has always stuck in my mind is “The facts of life are conservative.”

That’s the best short advice anybody could give you.

    One kick butt lady:

“These brief exchanges took place during Margaret Thatcher’s last speech in the House of Commons on November, 22 1990”
