Left-wing domestic terrorist becomes first woman on FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist list

Why do we keep hearing the media prattle on about the threat of possible “Tea Party” terrorism when they haven’t even been able to convict a Tea Partier for jaywalking, when the supermajority of actual domestic terrorist attacks come from Muslims and left wingers or a combination of the two?

Joanne Chesimard, who killed a New Jersey cop 40 years ago today, then escaped prison and fled to Cuba, has been labeled a terrorist and had a $2 million bounty put on her by the FBI, authorities said Thursday.

Chesimard was serving a life term for killing a New Jersey state trooper in 1973 when she escaped prison. After hiding out in a New Jersey safe house for several years, Chesimard managed to flee in 1979 to Cuba, where she has been living for decades under the name Assata Shakur.

“Joanne Chesimard is a domestic terrorist,” Aaron T. Ford, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Newark division, said at a press conference Thursday. “She absolutely is a threat to America.”

Chesimard, a member of the radical Black Liberation Army, shot and killed New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster execution-style on May 2, 1973, after she and two others were pulled over for a routine traffic stop on the New Jersey Turnpike, about an hour south of New York City.

If captured and returned to the United States, Chesimard faces the possibility of a White House welcome home dinner with President Barack Obama and First Lady, along with the presentation of a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

I may have made that last line up. I think.

    Related article Bob;

    “The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s list of “Ten Most Wanted” fugitives dates back to 1950 but the list of “Most Wanted Terrorists” dates back to just after 9/11 and a sense that terrorism had become a strategic threat. Today, the list includes 31 individuals, all of them male and with a single exception (Daniel Andreas San Diego, an animal rights extremist), all of them Muslim:

    Death before slavery!

    OOO I want to play:

    If captured and returned to the United States Chesimard is expected to engage a high-dollar, multi-city speaking tour across US college campuses to smear the Tea Party. She is fully anticipating multiple professorial teaching offers from Harvard, Columbia, Chicago or UC Berkeley.

    Gosh, you’ve got some pretty quick readers, Bob. My only crack at it is already up – louielouie. Good chuckles, and sad because they are so close to true.

    How in the world is the murder of one cop 40 years ago, consistent with the idea of TERRORISM?!?!!?

    And they are JUST NOW putting out a APB for her?

    Am I missing something here on these two points?

    Chesimard is certainly a “black eye” for NJDOC ! This latest, (very public) ,”spin” doubtless will create more problems for NJDOC staff, but won’t serve to retrieve the stolen horse. MW

    Why is she on he list? Do they think she will travel outside of Cuba? Or that the Cubans will turn her over to the United States?
    Maybe the F.B.I. thinks that when Castro finally kicks the bucket Cuba will overthrow the Communists and turn her over?
