Tracy Martin visits Congress, proposes victims disarmament act

Written By: Bob - Jul• 25•13

Tracy Martin, alleged Crips gang member and father of failed attempted murderer Trayvon Martin, met with the Congressional Black Caucus yesterday to argue for laws that would make it easier for criminals like his dead son to carry out violence without repercussions:

Tracy Martin, the father of the late Trayvon Martin, appeared on Capitol Hill on Wednesday for the first time since George Zimmerman’s non-guilty verdict, advocating for a positive legacy of his son’s death.“People tell you that no positive can come out of death, but I disagree wholeheartedly,” said Martin. “Because it is what we can do tomorrow as a nation, as a people, to stop someone else’s child from being killed. That’s certainly a positive.”

Martin was speaking at the first hearing of the Congressional Caucus of Black Men and Boys, a group started to discuss how society can fix issues that disproportionately affect African-American males, such as racial profiling, employment opportunities and the quality of education.

Speakers repeatedly brought up amending or repealing stand-your-ground laws.

“We believe there should be an amendment to the stand-your-ground law that simply says you cannot be the initial aggressor,” said Benjamin Crump, the Martins’ attorney. “You cannot start the confrontation. You cannot pick the fight, and then shoot the person, put your hands in the air and say, ‘I was standing my ground.’”

Let’s be very, very explicit here.

Both George Zimmerman and Rachel Jeantel tell the same story. Trayvon Martin was the initial aggressor, throwing the first punch of the confrontation, and all subsequent punches as well. At no point in the sequence of events that led up to Trayvon’s shooting was George Zimmerman ever an aggressor for even a fraction of a moment.

Likewise, Stand Your Ground laws bore no role in an incident where a young thug lurked in the darkness for four minutes, ambushed his victim from behind, sucker-punched him, mounted him, and made retreat an impossibility. From a legal perspective this was about as cut-and-dried of a self-defense shooting as you can expect, a textbook case in which Stand Your Ground law never applied.

The violent temper of Trayvon Martin and his love of violence that the jury didn’t get to hear about, revealed in the text messages on his phone, are what led to his death, not gun laws. Tellingly, Tracy Martin and the Congressional Black Caucus didn’t discuss Trayvon’s long history of fighting, his temper and bloodlust to hurt others, in their press conference. They didn’t talk about how Trayvon wanted to fight someone he’d recently beat down a second time, because he “didn’t bleed enough” the first time.

They didn’t discuss the multiple conversations Trayvon Martin had just days before his death, where he discussed buying and selling illegally-acquired handguns, including the sale of a .22 revolver, and the attempted purchase of a .38 Special revolver and a Smith & Wesson Sigma 9mm pistol. If the expert was correct, two of those conversations were with family members… and a conservative blog suspects one of those conversations about illegal guns was with Tracy Martin himself.

An image of a Smith & Wesson Sigma that was recovered from Trayvon Martin's cell phone. He was apparently attempting to purchase this gun just days before he attacked George Zimmerman.

Trayvon Martin was no innocent boy.

He was a young man from a broken home, shunted from one pretend mother to another as Tracy Martin went through a long string of “baby mommas.” Trayvon abused drugs, including marijuana and a street drug called “lean” that can lead to psychotic breaks. As a matter of fact, Trayvon had measurable amounts of THC (from marijuana) in his system that medical examiner Shiping Bao says could have affected his behavior, giving credence to Zimmerman’s behavioral (not racial) profiling of Trayvon as he lurked in the shadows near homes, apparently looking in windows, instead of walking on the sidewalk.

The Arizona Watermelon fruit drink and Skittles candy that Trayvon purchased from the convenience store were, according to his own social media accounts,  2/3s of Trayvon’s favorite way to get high; add DXM or codeine-based cough syrup, and you have the recipe for “lean.” Trayvon was apparently high when he encountered George Zimmerman and may have been on his way to get higher. The medical examiner’s report noted that Trayvon had an unusually fatty liver for someone his age, which is also consistent with”lean” abuse.

This absurd meeting on Capitol Hill exists for one reason: to disarm law-abiding citizens so that violent criminals like a gang-member father and his dead son can use violence against innocent victims unopposed.

Call it a “Victims Disarmament Act.”

Call it a “Thug Protection Act.”

Call it a “Make the Streets Safe for Our Failed Violent Culture Act.”

This isn’t about protecting innocent young men from predators. This is 100% about protecting criminals in the commission of violent crimes.

Tracy Martin is basically a liar and a useful idiot. He called his son an “upstanding citizen” which we know to be a blatent and outright lie. People are so scared of being called racist or being seen as unsympathetic to the parents loss that they let this stuff pass uncontested. All this “sympathy” for the Martins, it’s empty, foolish, and stupid. Why? Because they know what Trayvon was like, and honestly Zimmerman most likely saved some other family or families the grief of losing someone, and saved the FL taxpayers a lot of money in having to send Trayvon through the criminal justice system.

And to answer Obama’s question, if Trayvon had been white then it wouldn’t have gotten the media attention it got and the outcome would have been the same. Zimmerman would have been found not guilty, heck it probably wouldn’t have even gone to trial at all.

If Zimmerman had been named “Lopez” instead, it would never have been news. The BGI saw that name and thought “JEW!”

society can fix issues that disproportionately affect African-American males, such as racial profiling, employment opportunities and the quality of education.

In this little debating society do they ever bring up the problem that teachers unions cause black education? Or maybe the huge issues that involve a 74% illegitimacy rate and a culture that’s rapidly circling the drain? yeah I didn’t think so. I’m sure the normal meeting for the society of perpetual grievance goes something like this: “we are here today to condemn the would be victims of black crime, unless they are also black, then we won’t mention them at all. Anyone here who disagrees with us is a racist. Unless of course that person is black. Then this person will be condemned as a cornball brother, who isn’t authentically black and might be a self loathing republican who wishes he was white. All those in favor say Aye, those opposed, well we didn’t invite them.”

  3. Old Gringo says:

I’ve lived this societal lie of “discrimination against blacks” my entire adult life. The politically incorrect truth….more blacks are racist than whites.
Feel free to call me racist…just don’t call me dead.

when is this martin fella taking his traveling road show to the streets of chicago?
    thought so.

Allow me to also be explicit in debunking Tracy Martin’s line of malarkey. He said:

“We believe there should be an amendment to the stand-your-ground law that simply says you cannot be the initial aggressor,” said Benjamin Crump, the Martins’ attorney. “You cannot start the confrontation. You cannot pick the fight, and then shoot the person, put your hands in the air and say, ‘I was standing my ground.’”

(I am not an expert on Florida SYG and am basing it on Alaskan State Law for firearm use)

In a SYG case the one who is the law abiding citizen isn’t the initial aggressor.

    1) If someone is attacking another person and you have a reasonable fear / thought that the victim is about to have serious bodily harm or death (or to be sexually assaulted) you have the right to use deadly force to stop the attacker. You were not the initial aggressor.

    2) If someone breaks into your home and you confront them and they move in close, you do not have a “duty to retreat” – you may SYG. You did not start the confrontation.

    3) If someone jumps you, and knocks you down, and gets on top of you, and then rains down blows on you, and THEN begins to pound your head into concrete and you shoot them … you did not “pick the fight and then shoot them”

In SYG you are REACTING to another person’s actions. They are attacking you, attacking another person, they are charging you and screaming that they will “get you” and they are not some innocent bystander who has taken no aggressive action.

Here’s what pisses me off (and I know I’m preaching to the choir here) : I believe that I will present my argument, and that I should be truthful, it should be founded upon non-cherry picked facts, and that I should not distort nor bend the truth in order for me to present what I believe. People who have to lie, manufacture false advocacy studies, and who INTENTIONALLY misrepresent the other side have a weak argument.

Maybe if Tracy Martin had spent more time raising his son instead of letting him grow up to be a violent thug Trayvon would be alive.

George Zimmerman, while not exactly perfect, is however an amazing human being. He tutored poor kids, got justice for a homeless man, tried to help his neighbors, and was trusted by his neighbors to protect them. Recently he helped pull a family of 4 out of their rolled over vehicle and aided in putting out the car fire. In many ways Zimmerman was lucky – he had lived an above board life of service – imagine if he was you or me. I’m not a racist, but I have said or done things that sure could be embarrassing or taken the wrong way. I would not have held up to the media scrutiny as well as Zimmerman had.

Tracy Martin et al are LYING. Tracy himself is in denial.

  6. Peccable says:

Whacking the likes of Trayvon and the rest of his ilk prevents recidivism. Slaps on hands don’t prevent the repetition of bad habits. That is nothing more than permission to act out more violent.

Only punishment with a hard lesson is effective. Death is very effective.

  7. redc1c4 says:

something good has already come out of this incident: there is one less drugged out violent criminal in the world.

if the Martin family had put a fraction of the effort they have spent in trying to profit from the death of their son into raising him to be a decent human being, he’d be alive today, and in school, bettering himself.

    • Steven says:

That is so true – now that Trayvon is dead they are busy busy busy in his affairs – but apparently when he was alive they couldn’t be bothered.

On a related note: Anyone notice how his mom came crawling out of the woodwork? She basically had little to do with him, and his STEPMOM raised him.

  8. Jeff Hoser says:

Let’s be even more “explicit” .

Where was Tracy Martin ? At the crucial teen period Tracy – A Grand Master in the Masons – (noted for their probitity and public service), was conspiciously absent from Treyvon Martin’s life. Instead he had taken up with a girlfriend.

Now Tracy Martin is taking America to task for his parenting failure.

Sorry, Tracy, your son’s life was “bought and paid for” when he decided to bash in the skull of a volunteer watchman by repeatedly hammering his victim’s skull into concrete;. If there’s any “onus” to his death its your fault ! Not the victim’s. Not society’s. Yours !

Bad parenting leads to bad results. The statistics regarding out of wedlock births, single parent “families”, black crime rates, incarceration rates, etc. all document “Americas’ Crime problem” is a “Black Society Problem” ! .MW

  9. Kansas Gman says:

George Zimmerman did the law abiding citizens of Sanford, Florida a great service.

    He is an American Hero.

Trayvon Martin deserved what he got. Good riddance.

  10. Mark L says:

Trayvon Martin’s parents have to blame George Zimmerman for their son’s death. If they do not, they have to blame themselves. And they simply, absolutely cannot do that. If they had the insight and courage to do that they would not have failed Trayvon Martin in the first place.

  11. Charla says:

I am recently finding out that Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s dad, was a member of the murdering notorious gang CRIPS and had the Crips tattoo on his neck covered over with a praying hands tattoo just before he met with Obama. Like father, like son. Research it.
