Note: Times are hard and potentially dangerous as government officials are contemplating draconian gun control, and possibly even gun confiscation, in direct defiance of natural rights, Constitutional rights, and the explicit intent of the Founding Fathers.
As a result, I’m launching Gunnie Friend as a free service instead of a consultancy, and will help as many people as I can.
My eBook So You Want to Own a Gun was the culmination of a series of articles written at the behest of one of my editors at PJ Media. He wanted to get some basic information about how to go about finding a firearm to purchase and where to turn for training, but didn’t have a “gunnie friend” nearby that he could ask for advice.
The book is a good start to help people start thinking the right way about a firearms purchase, but it isn’t a conversation. A book can’t ask you probing questions, search for nuance, or suss out pertinent details that you yourself might not know to ask. And so Gunnie Friend was formed, to provide a deeper level of hand’s-on care than a book can provide.
What Gunnie Friend is
Gunnie Friend is firearms recommendation consulting service for first-time gun buyers who don’t know where to turn for reliable advice. The singular goal of Gunnie Friend is to guide first-time gun buyers towards a firearm that fits their needs, capabilities, and lifestyle. When you enter the gun store to make a purchase, we want you to have a short list of possible choices to help guide your selection and enhance your interaction with the gun store’s clerks.
Gunnie Friend is a service for beginning handgun and rifle purchasers interested in home and family defense, legal concealed carry, prepping, or marksmanship.
What Gunnie Friend is not
Gunnie Friend is for first-time gun buyers and new shooters that need entry-level, basic guidance. If you have questions about tactical training, in-depth training for specific shooting sports, or want to know about collector value of vintage firearms, Gunnie Friend isn’t for you.
Gunnie Friend is not capable of knowing the idiosyncratic and often non-sensible laws and regulations in a nation of 50 states and 20,000+ constantly-changing gun laws. We’ll guide you towards the kind of training resources you should have, but we cannot offer legal advice. Your local law enforcement authorities and local gun store owners are best equipped to help you meet state and local regulations regarding guns and ammunition.
Level 1 $100 Clients will fill out a detailed questionnaire to determine a “rough fit.” A brief phone consultation of 15-30 minutes will follow-up on the questionnaire, provide a an opportunity to ask questions, and seek clarification. After the questionnaire and phone consultation, We’ll provide a recommendation of several firearms that should fit the circumstances and needs of the specific shooter. The recommendation can then be printed out and brought to the range/gun store to assist in your trial and/or purchase. A guide for commonly used accessories (magazines, ammunition, holsters, storage, etc) will also be included.
Send me e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll email you back a questionnaire to determine a “rough fit.”

I’ll help as many people as I can, but as this is a volunteer effort, please be patient.
